1. Micro scratches and swirls : Especially visible on dark paints, and difficult to repair without polishing.
2. Paint damage : Stubborn particles can leave small damages in your paintwork.
3. Reduced Gloss : Over time, your vehicle will lose its deep, smooth appearance.

What should you do then?

• First use a pre-wash such as Blueberry Snow Foam or Mud Muncher to safely loosen dirt and sand.
• Let the product work for a while and then rinse it off. This prevents dirt from rubbing against your paint and protects your car or motorcycle.

Effect on Matte Lacquer or Wraps

Matte Lacquer : Matte lacquer is prone to gloss formation. A pH10 soap may be too strong, especially if not diluted correctly, and may damage the matte finish by leaving a residue or removing too much dirt.

A slight sheen may occur if soap residue is not rinsed off properly.

Wrapped Cars : Wraps are often made of vinyl, which can be sensitive to certain products. A too strong pH10 soap can damage the color or texture of the wrap, especially with matte or satin wraps.

Prolonged exposure or misuse may cause the vinyl to dry out or crack.

The mud Muncher pH10 Autozeep can be used occasionally on matt paint or wraps if diluted and rinsed correctly. For matt paint or wraps a pH neutral soap is usually recommended such as our Blue Berry Snow Foam and Cherry Shampoo, which is less likely to cause damage and residue.

How does a ceramic coating work?

Ceramic coatings are designed to be chemically resistant and protect your paint from dirt, UV rays and chemicals. They can usually handle slightly alkaline products such as pH 10 soap.

Why pH 10 is usually safe:

1. Mildly Alkaline : A pH of 10 like our Mud Muncher falls within the safe range for coatings. It is not aggressive enough to damage the coating itself, especially if the soap is diluted correctly.
2. Time and concentration : If you use the soap according to the instructions (for example 1-5% solution) and do not leave it on for too long, there is virtually no risk.
3. Designed for cars : Slightly alkaline products are often specifically developed to effectively remove dirt without damaging protective layers.

What to look out for:

1. Frequency of use : Constant use of alkaline products can reduce the hydrophobic effect of a coating over time. However, this is temporary and can easily be remedied with a quick detailer or coating topper.
2. Not too concentrated : Always dilute according to the recommendation. Too high concentrations can be harmful to coatings.
3. Avoid higher alkaline values : Products with a pH > 11 are more aggressive and can attack coatings more quickly.

• Cherry Shampoo for a gentle but thorough cleansing.

The recommended amounts:

• Blueberry Snow Foam : Mix 1-5% with water in a foam cannon.
• Mud Muncher : Also mix 1-5% with water, depending on the degree of contamination.
• Cherry Shampoo : 20-50 ml per 10L of water for hand washing.

Always use diluted for best results and economical use.

For very coarse contamination, 5-10% is recommended. In a foam canon this is 50-100ml mixed with 900ml water.
